| Motheo School Stationery Outreach |
|
We did an outreach at the Motheo School in Lawley. The outreach was organised by Milaca who is a local community mentor in Lawley and also a director of 1in1out. The students gathered in the assembly area and were then set to classes in groups of 30. In their classes, the children were taught and ministered to about Jesus Christ. They were also given the opportunity to give their lives to Jesus and receive salvation which almost all the children responded to. While the team was ministering to the children, Ruth and Diane ministered to the parents who waiting outside the classrooms. Medwyn ministered to the teachers who were present on the day in a separate classroom. After this time, the students were taken back to the assembly area where they were treated to a hot meal of mince stew, chicken and pap. After their meal they were taken back to their classes where a surprise awaited them. On their desks was a stationery pack containing pens, pencils, ruler, writing pads, lever arch files and crayons. The students were delighted and could not contain their excitement at receiving this awesome gift. Each child was also given a big packet of biscuits to take home. The day was a huge success through the efforts of a handful of dedicated volunteers and faithful sponsors. Thank you goes to Papermate for the sponsorship of the stationery as well as Snackworx for the biscuits and Woolworths for the ingredients used for the hot meal. |
